In no particular order:
- Mountain Laurel really hopes she's around to see when those bastards get what's coming to them.
- Mountain Laurel now remembers why she broke up with that particular ex.
- Mountain Laurel will never post another political update as she's getting sick of refereeing among her friends with varying viewpoints.
- Mountain Laurel really wishes people would just show each other some respect.
- Mountain Laurel misses home. A lot.
- Mountain Laurel isn't sure that she can do this.
- Mountain Laurel thinks the meat she cooked for dinner may have been bad. She's been sitting for a half hour and needs to again!
- Mountain Laurel wishes that folks would watch Desperate Housewives instead of creating drama at work.
- Mountain Laurel loves to see karma at work via football.
- Mountain Laurel found a dead rat outside her back stoop.
- Mountain Laurel prefers live rats to dead ones.
- Mountain Laurel has enough drama in real life that she doesn't need it on Facebook.
And feel free to add your rejected status updates as well. Even if you don't use Facebook.

Deadpan Alley is appalled at the level of intolerance and bigotry that stems from people she knows.
Deadpan Alley must have really been naive to think that in this modern day and age, people who love to talk about Jesus would aspire to be as accepting and full of love as He is.
(Great post, ML!!)
I do almost the same with FaceBook. I may delv into a particular subject, but I stay away from commenting on politicians generally.
I nearly lose my mind over all the "farm this" and "animal that" posts. I don't have to announce my love for any religion then tell someone else if they don't they are fakes. Same with loving members of my family.
I've tried to remain anon with my blog. My views are quite contrary to many where I live and could hurt me professionally.
When I started my anon blog I was a government employee, so I could have gotten in trouble for some of my comments. Now I'm self-employed and don't need my customers getting turned off.
My politics are not part of my business.
Muze, you reminded me of another one:
Mountain Laurel has lost loved ones to cancer, cares about women's health, appreciates coal miners, loves her mother, father, and brother, but does not feel the need to update her status to indicate it.
My blog began anonymously for the same reasons as yours, Muze. What was funny about the Facebook stuff is that it started as an experiment: could I publish the results to this poll from my phone? Unfortunately, I could. Thus, I had to spend the next few days trying to get my friends of various political persuasions to be respectful of each other.
Every now and then I wonder if I should do Facebook. Thanks for reminding me of the downside.
4/8/2010 - Are you going to write about the miners?
Watch this space, Kit.
The problem with Facebook it is that you have your family over there. So you can post some things that you usually do that why I love twitter because none of my followers are family
